About Word Search
Word search is the classic hidden-word puzzle: scan the grid, spot a word and sweep across it. Every game is a fresh grid, and the daily puzzle is the same for everyone, so you can race the world.
How to play
Find every word from the list hidden in the grid. Words run across, down or diagonally, forwards or backwards. Drag from the first letter to the last, or tap the first letter and then the last (keyboard: arrows and Space). Found words are coloured in. Play in any of 12 languages from the tabs; each has its own daily puzzle and leaderboard. The fastest time wins.
Tips and strategies
- Look for rare letters first (such as J, Q, X, Z); they narrow the search fast.
- Scan for the first two letters of a word together, not just the first one.
- Remember words can run backwards and diagonally, so check every direction from a match.
Word Search strategy guide
Hunt for rare letters. In each language some letters are scarce in the filler, so a word's least common letter is the quickest one to spot.
Sweep in lines. Scan row by row for a word's first letter, then check all eight neighbours for the second before following the line.
Look backwards and diagonally. The words that take longest are usually the reversed and diagonal ones — check those directions on purpose.

How are results ranked?
By time — the faster you find all nine words, the higher you rank. Words are 4 to 8 letters long and only cross where they share a letter.

Do I need an account?

Every day at 00:00 UTC everyone gets the same new puzzle. Only your first finish of the day counts on the leaderboard.
How are leaderboard results verified?
Our servers replay every move of your game and measure the time themselves, so leaderboard results can't be faked.
