Bridges
Link every island with the right number of bridges.
About Bridges
Bridges — known in Japan as Hashiwokakero, or Hashi for short — is a classic logic puzzle about linking islands. The numbers tell you how many bridges each island needs, and every puzzle here has exactly one solution.
How to play
Connect the islands with straight horizontal or vertical bridges. Each island's number says how many bridges touch it; two islands can share at most two bridges; bridges can't cross each other or pass over islands; and all islands must end up connected. Tap an island and then a neighbour (or drag between them) to add a bridge: tap again for two, and a third time to remove it.
Tips and strategies
- An island with 8 (or 6 on an edge, 4 in a corner) needs double bridges in every direction.
- An island whose number equals twice its neighbour count takes double bridges to all of them.
- Don't close off a group early: every island must end up connected to the rest.
Bridges strategy guide
Start with islands whose number leaves no choice. An island whose number is twice its number of neighbours — a 4 with two neighbours, a 6 with three — gets a double bridge to each of them.
Islands one below that still need a bridge to every neighbour: a 3 with two neighbours or a 5 with three connects to all of them at least once.
Keep everything connected. Don't join two 1s to each other, or two 2s with a double bridge, if that would cut them off from the rest of the islands.
Frequently asked questions
How do I play Bridges?
Connect the numbered islands with straight horizontal or vertical bridges. Each number says how many bridges touch that island, two islands share at most two bridges, bridges never cross, and all islands must end up connected.
Is this the same as Hashi?
Yes. Bridges, Hashi and Hashiwokakero are names for the same puzzle. Boards are 7×7, 10×10 and 13×13.
Does every Bridges puzzle have one solution?
Yes. A solver checks each island layout and only puzzles with exactly one solution are used.
Is Bridges free to play?
Yes. Every game on Puzzimo is completely free and runs in your browser on desktop, tablet and phone — no download or installation.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play instantly as a guest and still appear on the leaderboards. Sign in with Google, Discord or LINE to keep your scores on every device.
How does the daily Bridges challenge work?
Every day at 00:00 UTC everyone gets the same new puzzle. Only your first finish of the day counts on the leaderboard.
How are leaderboard results verified?
Our servers replay every move of your game and measure the time themselves, so leaderboard results can't be faked.
