Block Drop
Stack falling blocks and clear full rows.
About Block Drop
Block Drop is a classic falling-blocks arcade game: rotate and place seven kinds of pieces to complete rows before the stack reaches the top. Every game is replayed on our server, so the leaderboards are fair.
How to play
Move falling pieces left and right, rotate them, and drop them into place. Fill a whole row to clear it; clearing several rows at once scores more. The pieces fall faster every ten rows. The game ends when a new piece has no room at the top. Keys: ← → move, ↑ or X rotate, ↓ soft drop, Space hard drop.
Tips and strategies
- Keep the stack flat and leave one column open for long pieces.
- Clearing four rows at once is worth far more than four single rows.
- Use the ghost outline and hard drop to place pieces quickly and precisely.
Block Drop strategy guide
Keep the surface flat. Low, even stacks leave room for every shape; avoid deep one-wide wells except a single one saved for the long bar.
Go for multi-row clears. Four rows at once score eight times as much as one, so building up and waiting for the long bar pays off — as long as the stack stays well below the top.
Use the next-piece preview and hard drop. Plan where the next piece will go before the current one lands, and hard-drop when you're sure: it scores more and saves time as the speed rises.
Frequently asked questions
How do I play Block Drop?
Move and rotate the falling four-square pieces to fill whole rows in the 10×20 well. A full row clears; the game ends when a new piece has no room at the top.
How does scoring work?
Clearing 1, 2, 3 or 4 rows at once scores 100, 300, 500 or 800 points times the level. Soft drops add 1 point per row and hard drops 2. The level rises every 10 cleared rows, and pieces fall faster.
Is the piece order random?
Pieces come from a shuffled bag of all seven shapes, so no shape is ever kept from you for long. The order comes from the game's seed, which lets the server replay your game exactly. You earn coins once you clear at least one row.
Is Block Drop free to play?
Yes. Every game on Puzzimo is completely free and runs in your browser on desktop, tablet and phone — no download or installation.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play instantly as a guest and still appear on the leaderboards. Sign in with Google, Discord or LINE to keep your scores on every device.
How does the daily Block Drop challenge work?
Every day at 00:00 UTC everyone gets the same new puzzle. Only your first finish of the day counts on the leaderboard.
How are leaderboard results verified?
Our servers replay every move of your game and measure the time themselves, so leaderboard results can't be faked.
