About Binairo
Binairo — also called Takuzu or the binary puzzle — uses just two symbols, yet it's surprisingly deep. Three simple rules give you all the logic you need, and every puzzle here has exactly one solution.
How to play
Fill every cell with a 0 (white) or a 1 (black). No more than two of the same may sit next to each other in a row or column, every row and column has as many 0s as 1s, and no two rows or two columns are the same.
Tips and strategies
- Two equal symbols side by side? The cells on both ends must be the other symbol.
- A gap between two equal symbols (0_0) must be the opposite symbol.
- Once a row has half of one symbol, fill the rest with the other.
Binairo strategy guide
Look for pairs and gaps. Beside two equal digits in a line, the cells on both ends take the other digit; and in a pattern like 0 _ 0, the gap must be 1.
Count. On a 10×10 grid every line has five of each digit, so once a line has its five 1s, every empty cell in it is a 0 — and the same holds the other way round.
Near the end, compare lines. If an unfinished row has only two empty cells and matches a finished row everywhere else, fill those two cells the other way round, because no two rows may be identical.
